Which Bombshell are You? | Las Vegas Boudoir
I always give my clients a list of tips to help them prepare for their shoot. One of the tips is to do your photo session while pretending to be your favorite actress or model. It can really help to channel into your favorite bombshell. It also helps to imagine you are a ballerina….great posture and grace look amazing in photographs. It may feel silly at first, but it can give you a major confidence boost. So before your shoot, go ahead and do a little homework and find which famous femme fatale you can most identify with. This also helps in all kinds of situations, not just boudoir shoots!
I read somewhere once that Carmen Electra’s most inspiring bombshell was Ann Margaret. I love her too! Carmen studied her films over and over again so she could adopt some of her mannerisms as her own. Some of Ann’s films you might like to watch one day include, Bye Bye Birdie, Viva Las Vegas, Kitten with a Whip and The Tiger and the Pussycat.
Or maybe you relate with Marilyn Monroe more? Some of her sexiest film roles were in Some Like It Hot, The Seven Year Itch, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire, Bus Stop and Niagara.
Or do you prefer a modern day vixen? As mentioned above, Carmen Electra has major appeal. She even has a book on How to be Sexy that might be worth checking out. And her exercise DVD’s might just get you into the sexy spirit while helping to get you into shape!
Dita von Teese is a good one to emulate too. That girl always looks impeccable and knows how to carry every inch of her body while posing for images.
These are just a few bombshells who come to mind. You might identify with others more though who might include: Sophia Lauren, Brigette Bardot, Lauren Bacall (You don’t know how to whistle, don’t you?), Elizabeth Taylor, Bettie Page, Jayne Mansfield, Angelina Jolie, Rita Hayworth, and so many others. Just do a google search for them and see what inspires you the most!
Have fun with this girls! Can’t wait to see which one you show up as to your shoot!

Inspired: Iris Apfel
Let’s face it, getting older is a daunting fact of life for any woman. Style icon, Iris Apfel actually makes me look more forward to it though. My grandmother was also a very stylish woman…always knew how to add a little glamour to every outfit. So, bring on the huge eye-glasses and load me up with accessories….elegant & fashionable aging, here I come! I actually think I will be braver with my fashion sense as I age.
Here is a great video on Iris. Such a fascinating woman! Hope you enjoy learning about her and her wisdom on personal style sensibility.

Inspiration: Jerry Hall | Las Vegas Boudoir
While doing a clients makeup for a boudoir session this week, Kat (Hera Beauty) mentioned how much she reminded her ofJerry Hall, a model popular in the late 1970′s and well known for having been Mick Jagger’s long-time flame. She reminded me more of Cameron Diaz, but when I returned home from the shoot I looked her up online and thought our gorgeous client was a perfect mix of Hall and Diaz! Lucky girl! Anyway, I got carried away browsing images of Jerry and thought I would share a few here with you to hopefully provide you with some inspiration for your own boudoir photoshoot.
In my list of tips I provide when you book your session, I mention that it sometimes helps to imagine that you are your favorite celebrity or model during your shoot. Getting into character like that helps give you confidence, which the camera absolutely adores. So, go ahead and seek out celebrated bombshells you can emulate! Which famous female would you be?
I loved this video featuring Jerry’s opinion on beauty, aging and plastic surgery.

Penelope Cruz Knows How to Turn it On
I recently watched an interview with Penelope Cruz on 60 minutes and was impressed with how down-to-earth she was. One of the sexiest actresses of our time admitted to feelings of insecurity, not really knowing how sexy she truly is. But what struck me the most is how she is able to switch the sexy on for her roles in films even if she suffers from self-doubt in that area. For me, that is one of the biggest lessons I have learned about self confidence in general is that by just acting as if you are confident, you can find it from within. For a boudoir session I encourage my clients to do this. You can even act as if you are one of your favorite sexy actresses, like Penelope Cruz! The camera loves confidence, even if it is implied!

French Girls – Sexy and BRAVE!
Stumbled upon this video today by French Electronica group, “Make the Girl Dance” and was blown away by the bravery of these girls. Their confidence is incredibly sexy and I love how their nakedness seems almost natural and rather innocent if it weren’t for the shocked glances of onlookers. Fun song too! It’s being used for the new Victoria Secret Bombshell commercials. Love the French accent! Ohh la la!
Inspired: Photographer Yu Tsai for Muse Magazine
How was I unaware of this photographer before now? Yu Tsai has a pretty amazing body of work. I really like this new Lindsey Lohan project he did for Muse Magazine shot at the Chateau Marmont (love that place). Nice way to tie video in with the stills. The video is pretty darned sexy, probably not something you want to watch at work. Lindsey really has some great expressions in it. She is definitely not afraid to show her sexy side in this! I was instantly smitten with the song used in it. Added it to my playlist for our boudoir shoots. ![]()

Inspired: Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
Did any of you watch the Vicoria’s secret Fashion Show last night? I did, and loved it as always! It always has a strange side-effect for me, as I find myself getting a little teary-eyed watching it. But I sometimes weep when I am excited by creativity and beauty. Weird, huh? Oh heck, I’m just a sensitive girl, what can I say?
Anyway, in case you missed it, you can view it in it’s entirety here. There is never an uninspired moment. If you are looking for ideas for wardrobe for your next boudoir shoot, take special note how they never just leave a VS outfit to star on it’s own. It is all about creating drama with the accessories.
Sexy European Fragrance Commercial
Europeans just ‘get’ what’s sexy. This commercial for YSL Parisienne Fragrance starring Kate Moss is smokin’ hot! Aren’t the old-fashioned pink roses absolutely beautiful? I’m hoping someone will bring a prop like that to their shoot one day soon! Or better yet, big, pink PEONIES!
