Awhile back I had a spectacular client who had the cutest knickers from Agent Provocateur as one of her ‘looks’ during her boudoir session. They were so unique that I remember them to this very day and when I saw a similar pair in the Frederick’s of Hollywood catalog, I thought I would highlight them here for all of you in case this is a look you are interested in either for a boudoir photo session or a romantic night with your guy! I love getting goodies in the mail! Well, last week I received a sample kit of Buddha Balm products! Yippee! I just had to share it with you girls here because I absolutely adore it and think you might like it too. This lip balm is no joke. It is without a doubt the most effective lip product I think I have ever tried! Buddha Balm is available in an assortment of interesting flavor combinations that you can still subtly taste on your lips hours after applying it. And it keeps my lips hydrated for hours too! Presenting Plum Pretty Sugar | Las Vegas Boudoir
I have long been a fan of Plum Pretty Sugar Loungerie, so imagine my surprise when I received a nice email from the lovely owner, Charlotte! I wanted to introduce all of you to her divine line of ‘loungerie’, including the most fabulously feminine and simply gorgeous robes. I just know you will adore them as much as I do. In fact, I just purchased one to bring to all of my boudoir shoots (in case you want to borrow it while having your hair and makeup done) so you can see how pretty they are in person. I think it would look pretty incredible as a ‘look’ in your shoot too! A lot of bride’s are ordering these robes to get ready in on their special day or to give as gifts to their bridesmaids. The one I ordered is made of cotton voile fabric in a pattern called Darling Jardin Bleu found during Charlotte’s travels in India. Can’t wait for it’s arrival!

Boudoir Style: Luxe Look For Less | Las Vegas Boudoir
One of my clients recently brought to her shoot the most stunning corset from Agent Provocateur for one of her ‘looks’ that I wanted to share with you here. Unfortunately I can’t show the images I took of her in it out of respect for her privacy (she opted to keep her photos to herself on her model release form). But, I found it on the Agent Provocateur website so you can see for yourself! It photographs beautifully. At $390 it’s a bit pricey for a lot of us women, but I found a very similar one on the Victoria’s Secret website for $58 (available in black, red & pink - I personally prefer the black one), in case you want something like this for your own boudoir shoot. Corsets are perfect for almost every body shape, but especially if your tummy is a problem area that you would like to diminish rather than highlight in your photos.

Boudoir-Style Art throughout the Ages | Las Vegas Boudoir Photography
Boudoir as an artform is nothing new really. In fact, it’s always been around, it just gets a more modernized facelift every once in awhile. Throughout history we can see it in famous old paintings, early photographs, etc. The biggest difference with boudoir between now and then though besides modernization, is it has been made more affordable in recent years for the everyday woman to be able to experience this luxury service. Back in the Art Deco period, for example, only high society women could commission artists (such as one of my all-time favorite painters, Tamara de Lempicka) to paint them in seductive poses for their personal collection of art. Pretty fabulous, huh? Here are some examples from Tamara that she painted for these well-to-do beauties in the 1920’s (Click on thumbnails for full versions):

Wednesday Wish List - Summer Style | Las Vegas Boudoir
Pool season is pretty big in Vegas, so on my radar this Wednesday are looks that are perfect for summer. I love lip stains during the summertime, as they last forever and look more natural than regular lipsticks. You can also use them on your cheeks for a hint of color. And, of course, you have to have a cute bikini, a cover-up, cool shades and sexy shoes!
Style Idea: Sheer Simplicity | Las Vegas Boudoir
Just did a shoot last week with a pretty lady who brought in the cutest sheer top from Forever 21 to use as one of her ‘looks’! This is a great idea if you like the idea of topless but are a little timid about the idea! This particular clients top was adorable…kind-of a lacy top that was meant for layering over a camisole and it was open to the waist, where it cinched in and had buttons at the bottom to keep it pulled together. It also had sparkly accents around the lining. It was sooo pretty! If you are looking for something a little different, I would encourage you to look for things like this from your regular wardrobe even.

Boudoir Styling Idea | Las Vegas Boudoir Photographer
Awhile back I was browsing the Kiki De Montparnasse website and found the most amazing little outfit for a boudoir session….a Garter Tank! Isn’t this the coolest thing ever? Pair it with sexy panties, fishnet stockings and a multi-strand necklace to give it an extra ‘edge’.
Well, imagine my excitement when my boudoir client came in with that exact outfit yesterday! I was even more inspired when she told me her idea for that ‘look’….she wanted to wet the tank for the photos! We got shots of her in the bathtub pouring water out of a vessel onto herself. And, the pictures look AMAZING! I so wish I could share them! I promised to keep them private for her and her hubby-to-be though…sorry girls! But we could always recreate this look at any time if any of you are interested!

Another take on the ‘tank look’ could be pairing a regular tank top (knotted in front or back) with these amazing bottoms!
So many fun ideas! Just think outside of the box a little. Afterall, you want to add a little fantasy to at least one of your looks for your photos.

I get lots of inquiries regarding good sites to shop for lingerie from and while I keep quite a few sites listed on the side of the blog (to the right), I wanted to list my absolute favorites on this post for you now. While some of these are more expensive than, let’s say, Victoria’s Secret, or less accessible (as some are Europe based companies), you can always use these as examples in finding similar, more affordable options when you go on your search for the perfect attire for your shoot.

Wish List Wednesday
This week I have lots of home decor items on my wish-list.
First up is an office chair I have been lusting over for years. I love the shape of these, but wonder if they are comfortable enough for someone who spends hours upon hours at their desk. If any of you own a chair similar to this, I would love to hear your opinion on the comfort of them.
Yesterday I stumbled upon this living room display for Z Gallerie. I thought it was decadently beautiful. I am normally drawn to white furniture or something like this (a neutral gray) where you can add pops of color to the room with artwork and accents.
I have come to the conclusion that my all-time favorite kitchen and bathroom countertop material is Carrara Marble. Michelangelo used this type of marble for his famous David statue. I am totally obsessed with it right now. What is your favorite countertop surface?

What’s Sexy Now? Guest 1 - Las Vegas Boudoir
Haute Shots is proud to be starting a new blog series called, What’s Sexy Now featuring smart, fashionable, successful & fabulous women giving their thoughts on what makes a woman sexy and sharing some of their favorite sexy things from films to fashion.
I wanted to kick the series off with the lovely Alison Rubke of the all-too-fabulous blog, Frou Frou Fashionista and owner of one of the most exquisite lingerie boutiques in the US, Faire Frou Frou, (Faire Frou Frou means ‘to show off’ in French - too cute!). She has impeccable taste and I am so happy that she is sharing some of her insights with us all here. And in case you missed Alison’s prior guest spot on Haute Shots, you can find her past post here.

A woman is sexy when she has a positive attitude, a sweet charm, class, confidence and intelligence. Those qualities make a woman beautiful.
When listing the sexy qualities in a woman I was thinking of Sarah Jessica Parker…something about her is just so cool. I love her personality! Or even someone like Grace Kelly…such a beauty with a bit of mystery.
Hmm, sexy film or book? Does Twilight count (LOL!)…I read quite a bit, but nothing too sexy. To be honest, I’m more of a romantic comedy personality. So movies like “Something’s Gotta Give” and “You’ve Got Mail” are my favorites.
Sexy mood music is definitely most R&B music. From “Sexual Healing” Marvin Gaye to “Make Love to You” by Boyz to Men to “Get Off” by Prince to “Nasty Boy” by Christina Aguilera…oh my goodness, there are so many good ones! However, in our lingerie boutique we play a lot of flirty music from Brigitte Bardot and Marilyn Monroe which is provocative in a fun way.
The ultimate sexy item is thigh high/stockings with a garter & high heels (Louboutins of course!). Being a lingerie boutique owner, I understand the importance of lingerie boosting your mood. Some incredibly hot designers right now are Lascivious and Damaris…both are tastefully daring! When you see someone like Dita von Teese perform and use her stockings as a prop, you really get an idea of how sexy lingerie can be. On a completely different note, I find black & white photography very sexy…just take a look at anything by Ellen von Unwerth and you will understand!
I think a sexy destination is a place that is visually stimulating with a lot of rich history and beautiful architecture. Places like Paris, London, Vienna and Amsterdam come to mind.
The boost of confidence certainly comes from creating a good presentation of myself. From a light perfume to a darling bra to pretty jewels and accessories. I really enjoy developing my style and really find joy in fashion. I enjoy finding ways to work lingerie into my outerwear, whether it’s pretty stockings or a statement bra with pretty straps, making these looks work are certainly morale boosters.

Hint of a Man
I was watching an episode of the Girl’s Next Door last night and was paying special attention to Crystal’s photoshoot segment. They talked about how they always try to include a ‘hint of a man’ on the Playmate photo shoot sets. This is actually something that was important to me when I was searching for the perfect spot for my Ginger suite shoots. I didn’t want my photographs or products to be overly girly since the gift is usually for a man. So I chose a spot that appeals to you both…modern and stylish but not over-the-top feminine. I like to leave that part to the subject of the photos - you!
Don’t forget that you can bring something of his to your shoot to use as a prop. His tie, his button-down shirt, his hat, etc. I also design my products with your man in mind. Nothing too frilly with the design unless you request it. I strive for classy, modern, elegant…and of course, SEXY!
Lingerie Inspiration
I just adore the line of lingerie at Agent Provocateur. Although they are a bit pricier than other lingerie sources, their website is still fun to search for inspiration for what you might like to wear for your boudoir shoot! Take note of the exquisite lace they use on their garments…so pretty!

If you are in the market for corsets and live in or are visiting Las Vegas, you are just in luck! We have an amazing corset store in town….Bad Attitude Boutique. They specialize in their own line of hand made tight lacing Corsets, for a perfect hourglass shape. Check out their Lolita Girl line too for more of a pin-up girl look.

Facial Expressions for Boudoir
Good facial expressions can create a major wow factor in your photographs. During your photo session, I will always help coach you into not only specific poses but also into trying different expressions. Here are a few tips you can try on your own too!
- Before the shoot practice expressions for different emotions: dreamy, flirty, pouty, fierce, sexy, happy, passionate, confident, sassy.
- Pay attention to models expressions when looking through your favorite magazines of even the Victoria’s Secret website.
- Have a strong focus on whatever you are gazing upon, whether it be directly at the camera or across the room.
- Smile with your eyes.
- Act like you are about to say something. (Leaning forward, open mouth, inquisitive eyes)
- Breathe. Inhale and exhale deeply.
- Don’t be afraid to show some personality in your pictures.
- For each pose during your photo session, I will give you time to try out different expressions so you will have lots of looks to choose from.

It isn’t necessary to be completely naked if that makes you too uncomfortable for your photo shoot. Having gorgeous images of you in pretty, feminine lingerie can give you a MAJOR boost in self esteem!
Cosmetics - What I’m Liking Right Now
I have been using eyeliner pencil for so many years that I had forgotten how much I loved a good liquid eyeliner. I recently bought one in black by Colorstay Revlon and am loving how quick and easy it is to use! I no longer have to set my pencil eyeliner with eyeshadow, so that saves me a step! M•A•C Pigments are always fun for eyeshadow and they last so long! And if you haven’t tried TARTE blush yet, you must give it a go! It gives your skin a healthy, slightly more dewy glow than powder blush could. And finally, I was addicted to volumizing mascaras until I tried Flawless Definition by Bare Escentuals. I was so tired of the big brush trend with volumizing mascaras and am relieved to be using a smaller brush again. And my lashes look perfectly defined, a bit glossy and never clumpy!
