Hunter-Barnes Style
Just stumbled across the up-&-coming interior designers, Adam Hunter and Spencer Barnes and am loving their work! Maybe one day I will create a photography studio based on some of these looks.
New Business Cards
Finally put my order in for my new business cards! I did a quick, simple design for this one, as I need them in a hurry! Here is the (lo-resolution) design, minus the phone number. Oh, and they will have rounded corners!
AIGA Poker Card Design
Awhile back I mentioned a project I was working on for the AIGA, in which I did a special photoshoot (here) and then based a design around the selected image. Well, here is the final design.
Current Design Work
Currently waiting on final approval for a logo revamp I am doing for Fiji Water. They asked me to ‘crest’ their logo to tie in to the theme of the event they are sponsoring – The Palm’s (Playboy) Midsummer Nights Dream Party. Such a fun project!
Upcoming Photo Shoots & Design Projects
Currently working on more Perfect Princess Parties projects. I am designing a brochure and a website. I’ll post the previous projects soon (business cards & flyers).
Two photo shoots next week: Caiden (Baby) & Lauren (Boudoir ).
In the works:
Some of the upcoming projects on my calendar include:
Photoshoot for baby Skylar – this weekend
Photoshoot for Steffan – next weekend
Marketing solutions (design) for Perfect Princess Parties – very soon!
Photoshoot for Perfect Princess Parties – pending
Also on the horizon:
Painting a mural at a local animal shelter as part of a volunteer project
Taking part in a studio lighting workshop
Looking into taking wedding photography classes/workshops
Creative Design Process
A little about my creative process when commissioned to do graphic design work.
- Creative Brief -
After first meeting with a new client, I like to have them fill out a Creative Brief form that I send them by email. This gives me valuable information about their company and their needs that I refer to as I develop their designs.
- Proposal/Estimate/Terms/Print Quotes -
This is where I present my proposal to you for your projects. I include an estimate, terms & conditions and print quotes, if needed.
- Research/Design Trends/Concept -
After agreeing to the above, I begin my research on your competitors and design trends in your specific field in an effort to develop a solution that is unique for your needs. I begin concepting ideas at this point.
- Comps -
Develop comps (rough drafts) and present them, usually by email as lo-res PDFs.
- Revisions -
This is where we have up to 3 revision cycles. You will be heavily involved in proofing copy message and spelling, color, fonts, sizes, etc. in order to come to a final approval to send your jobs to print.
- Final Artwork -
I present the final artwork by disc and email as a Print Ready PDF, unless another format was otherwise agreed upon.
- Print -
Either I can do this for you through my vendor, or you can have this done yourself through your own vendors using the final artwork files I presented to you previously.
AIGA Workshop
My picture made it into the local AIGA’s monthly e-zine this week! This was taken at their web design workshop after a very long day! The next meeting should be incredible! Ann Willoughby, President and Creative Director of Willoughby Design Group, and Starbucks’ Stanley Hainsworth will be speaking! And in June my “secret” project (involving my recent photoshoot of Meghan) will be revealed at the annual AIGA Poker Tournament.
