Lashes for your Boudoir Shoot
My absolute favorite accessory (I know I have mentioned this before) for your boudoir shoot is fake lashes. Lashes combined with a smoky eyeshadow and dark eyeliner adds so much to your look! When shopping for lashes for a photo shoot, remember that you want them to be more dramatic than what you would normally wear, so skip over the more natural looking ones and go for some them are a little longer, thicker and maybe spikier but not too theatrical. I thought the Ardell Fashion Lashes #116 (pictured) were quite nice. They could be a little bit thicker and less sparse, but they would still look really good. The idea is to make your eyes really stand out in your pictures, and these will help for sure!

Beauty Products – Foundation
I have long been a fan of Bare Escentuals…love it’s non-messy ease of use, but have found myself longing for a more moisturizing type of foundation that evens out my skin tone more (and maybe hides a few freckles!). I tried a new one from Mac (Studio Sculpt), butI’m not sure I’m absolutely crazy about it.
I just stumbled across this one from Clinique and was wondering if any of you have tried it. It is called Almost Makeup and is supposed to be like a tinted moisturizer but with a little more coverage. Looks like a good day time foundation anyway. Might give me that dewy effect I am looking for, hopefully without settling into my pores.
But then that leaves me wondering what I should use for a more flawless look on nights out? Any suggestions ladies?
What foundations do you use?
Another thing on my makeup radar is this eyeshadow pro palette with eyeshadow refill pans from MAC. I would love the pro palette that holds more shadows but think it would be better to start small since it can get a little pricey. I think the colors below are what I woud start with. What are your favorite shades of MAC eyeshadow?
Beauty: Favorite Mascaras
Right now my favorite mascara is DiorShow Mascara by Dior. I’m all about the volume when it comes to mascara! I love thick, dark lashes and this one seems to do the trick.
A comparable, lower-end version of this would be Lash Blast by Cover Girl.
I’m curious to hear what YOUR favorite mascara is? What are you currently using?

Trend: Tendertone Makeup by M·A·C

M·A·C Backstage Trend Update: Tendertone. “Tender tones, leached out shades, ice cream scoops of colour. All applied playfully – as if this were your first makeup ever. What’s key, the colour contrasts and how fresh they appear – as a sheer wash, a fabulous cloud of fairy dust…”
I could see this makeup look with crimped hair…a fun, fantasy sort of look!
To Prepare for a Photoshoot
For women, I highly recommend a little pampering before getting your photos done. That would entail manicured and pedicured feet, as well as hair and makeup! It also might involve a little shopping spree for cute outfits! It’s important you feel confident and good about yourself while taking pictures so that your pictures will reflect the best you possible!
For local, talented professionals at dolling you up, here are a few of my recommendations:
You can get it all done in Las Vegas at COLOR, a Salon by Michael Boychuck. My favorite ‘artisans’ there are:
Jackie Barajas – Hair
Shawna Traynor – Nails
LaVey - Makeup
Or if you are in the Henderson area, hit up my fabulous friends Cari (nails) and Melissa (hair) at D’hair To Be Different Salon, right near Sunset Park.
For an amazing facial or waxing needs (do this a couple days before the shoot to avoid redness & swelling), go see Liz at Canyon Ranch SpaClub (not my fav place, but I LOVE Liz!).
And, if you are looking for that perfect tan (airbrushed), check out Lorit Summit with Tanning Vegas.
