Silver Screen Siren | Las Vegas Boudoir
I have been so excited to post these images from my recent shoot with Mrs W. Everything about them just screams glamour to me. We all decided to do the styling for this one a bit different than Mrs W is used to since she has had her boudoir images taken with me before on a prior trip to Vegas. Kat and Whitney of Hera Beauty went with a more retro, Old Hollywood Starlet sort of look with her hair and makeup. Mrs W even brought sexy red shoes for this, quite a departure for her, as she is an avid devotee to black as far as her wardrobe is concerned. And, as always, she was adorned in gorgeous accessories! I think she looks divine, don’t you?

The Girl’s Got Shoes | Las Vegas Boudoir
What girl doesn’t have a serious love affair with gorgeous shoes? I think women are so lucky that we get to adorn our feet with such lovely things. Guys are not as fortunate in this area for sure, although they do hold comfort over us!
Mrs P came to her shoot with the coolest props..a gorgeous red boa and an amazing fur blanket that she travelled across the states with! But what I loved even more was her insanely beautiful collection of shoes! And I instantly fell in love with her amazing personality! She was quite a looker, that’s for sure, but has a way about her that puts everyone at ease and ensures that all around her are having a grand time! I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with this pretty lady! Hope to do another fun shoot with her on one of her future trips back to Vegas! So fun!

Inspired: Iris Apfel
Let’s face it, getting older is a daunting fact of life for any woman. Style icon, Iris Apfel actually makes me look more forward to it though. My grandmother was also a very stylish woman…always knew how to add a little glamour to every outfit. So, bring on the huge eye-glasses and load me up with accessories….elegant & fashionable aging, here I come! I actually think I will be braver with my fashion sense as I age.

Congratulations! | Las Vegas Boudoir
Miss O was an absolute riot - she had wanted to wait for her boyfriend’s birthday to show him her boudoir images from her photo session with me but caved in and let him see her sneak peeks the instant I emailed them to her. The very next day or so he proposed to her! I would like to think these photos played a small part in her adoring boyfriend putting a gorgeous ring on her finger, but the truth is, these two are just head over heels for one another! Did I mention how gorgeous the ring is? Oh my goodness, I absolutely swooned when I saw it. Miss O, you are so deserving of the all the happiness coming your way. I am beyond ecstatic for both of you!
Isn’t Miss O stunning? By the way, some of you may recognize Miss O (it’s Lavey!) from some of your shoots. She fills in for Kat doing makeup on occasion. She is a phenomenal celebrity makeup artist. I always giggle when a client tells her they want their makeup to look like Kim Kardashian’s because LaVey has done makeup for the Kardashian’s on several occasions when they are in Vegas!

Dream Girl | Las Vegas Boudoir
With the face of an angel and a body that just doesn’t stop, Miss C’s boudoir session was smokin’ hot! She was so at ease in her own skin and I think it shows in her pics, don’t you? Thanks Miss C for a fun and fabulous shoot! You rock!
On another exciting note, this was a brand new venue for me, one I hope to be doing lots more boudoir shoots at! It is called Rumor and it’s a boutique style hotel that Vegas has needed for a long time! Super stylish, with lots of personality and a very accommodating staff, this is the place to stay if you are looking for something a little different. It’s a great place for locals to hang out at too, with a cool bar and restaurant (both with delicious menus) and a pool perfect for lounging with a group of friends - this could very well become my home away from home! Just Because | Las Vegas Boudoir
A trend I am seeing more and more of with boudoir is women doing these shoots ‘just because’. These images will be something they can look back on years to come and recall their more youthful days. Sometimes you don’t need much more of a reason to get boudoir photos done. It’s a great way to celebrate you and how beautiful you truly are!
Such is the case with Ms. B. She has a birthday approaching and what better way to celebrate it than by commemorating her fabulousness with a boudoir session? And, was she ever fabulous! With such a fun personality & a true sparkle in her eye, she set her nerves aside, put on some cute outfits and completely shined for my camera! Loved her cute tattoos too!

Boudoir Style: Luxe Look For Less | Las Vegas Boudoir
One of my clients recently brought to her shoot the most stunning corset from Agent Provocateur for one of her ‘looks’ that I wanted to share with you here. Unfortunately I can’t show the images I took of her in it out of respect for her privacy (she opted to keep her photos to herself on her model release form). But, I found it on the Agent Provocateur website so you can see for yourself! It photographs beautifully. At $390 it’s a bit pricey for a lot of us women, but I found a very similar one on the Victoria’s Secret website for $58 (available in black, red & pink - I personally prefer the black one), in case you want something like this for your own boudoir shoot. Corsets are perfect for almost every body shape, but especially if your tummy is a problem area that you would like to diminish rather than highlight in your photos.

True Friends | Las Vegas Boudoir Photography
Some people come in to your life for a fleeting moment, others hang around for a few years, while a handful of others are friends for life. Miss D falls into the ‘friends for life’ category for me. We met many years ago as coworkers and ended up sharing a closet space as our office…no joke. You can really get to know a person when working in such close quarters! While I was studying and learning photography I would talk Miss D into doing mini photo sessions on the roof during our lunch breaks…sooo fun! And she was always the perfect model! She had experience in dance which allowed her to pose so effortlessly and gracefully. Well, flash forward to now, and she still has that beautiful grace! I was so happy that she recently asked me to do a professional photoshoot for her while she was in Vegas, one in which we weren’t surrounded by construction workers on the roof of a casino! Boudoir-Style Art throughout the Ages | Las Vegas Boudoir Photography
Boudoir as an artform is nothing new really. In fact, it’s always been around, it just gets a more modernized facelift every once in awhile. Throughout history we can see it in famous old paintings, early photographs, etc. The biggest difference with boudoir between now and then though besides modernization, is it has been made more affordable in recent years for the everyday woman to be able to experience this luxury service. Back in the Art Deco period, for example, only high society women could commission artists (such as one of my all-time favorite painters, Tamara de Lempicka) to paint them in seductive poses for their personal collection of art. Pretty fabulous, huh? Here are some examples from Tamara that she painted for these well-to-do beauties in the 1920’s (Click on thumbnails for full versions):

A Very Fashionable Girl | Las Vegas Boudoir
Referred by two previous Haute Shots clients (both fabulous gals themselves), the statuesque Mrs. Y decided to do a boudoir shoot after most of her gorgeous tattoo had been completed. I was inspired the second I saw the amazing array of colors in it. But what inspired me even more were her outfit selections! Oh my goodness, were they ever sexy….and creative! I loved how she played with the colors in one of them (blue and orange) - simply gorgeous!

My clients amaze me on a daily basis with their beauty and overall fabulousness and Ms. J was no exception. Not only was she gorgeous and in amazing shape, but she was fun and interesting. She had studied interior design, something I’m crazy about myself, and I found her absolutely fascinating! An Ideal Husband | Las Vegas Boudoir
Mr N is an ideal husband. He really knows how to make his wife feel special. While he was coming to Vegas for business, he not only flew his gorgeous wife in because he wanted to share the trip with her, but also lined up a boudoir session for her with Haute Shots and also arranged for hair/makeup by Hera Beauty during her time here!
We had so much fun with Mrs N! She had a spunky, fun personality and it was a pleasure getting to know her. She had the most adorable outfits and shoes that she said her hubby purchased for her. Hello?! I told you he was the ideal husband! He brings her back goodies like that all the time, apparently!

I get lots of inquiries regarding good sites to shop for lingerie from and while I keep quite a few sites listed on the side of the blog (to the right), I wanted to list my absolute favorites on this post for you now. While some of these are more expensive than, let’s say, Victoria’s Secret, or less accessible (as some are Europe based companies), you can always use these as examples in finding similar, more affordable options when you go on your search for the perfect attire for your shoot.

Wish List Wednesday
This week I have lots of home decor items on my wish-list.
First up is an office chair I have been lusting over for years. I love the shape of these, but wonder if they are comfortable enough for someone who spends hours upon hours at their desk. If any of you own a chair similar to this, I would love to hear your opinion on the comfort of them.
Yesterday I stumbled upon this living room display for Z Gallerie. I thought it was decadently beautiful. I am normally drawn to white furniture or something like this (a neutral gray) where you can add pops of color to the room with artwork and accents.
I have come to the conclusion that my all-time favorite kitchen and bathroom countertop material is Carrara Marble. Michelangelo used this type of marble for his famous David statue. I am totally obsessed with it right now. What is your favorite countertop surface?

Tonight’s the Night! Las Vegas Boudoir
It’s Haute Shots first anniversary and I’m excited to be celebrating it this evening with all of you! It’s because of YOU that Haute Shots has come this far, so it’s really a party for all of us! I’m thrilled to be getting so many of my past clients together for this celebration. Each and every one of you is so fabulous and I think it will be fun for you all to meet each other! Shooting a Shooter - Las Vegas Boudoir
In the time leading up to WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Professionals International) conference last month I had quite a few inquiries from other boudoir photographers who were going to be in town and wanted to get a boudoir session from me for themselves. Unfortunately I had to turn away all but one pretty lady due to my crazy schedule that week. I felt so bad about not being able to do all of the shoots but am grateful for the opportunity to have done at least one shoot for another photographer.
I have to admit I was nervous as all get out (then again, I’m always nervous about EVERYTHING…lol)! When shooting for another photographer, you know you are dealing with a person who has a highly trained eye so the pressure to deliver perfection is even stronger. But, Mrs T walked in and put my nerves at ease with her charming personality, fun ideas for her shoot and her absolute beauty. It ended up being one of the funnest shoots ever! Something about her reminded me of Kate Beckinsale…she is a real looker! And the girl knew how to pose!
Thank you Mrs. T for a fabulous time! Looking forward to next year when we can do it again!

What’s Sexy Now? Guest 1 - Las Vegas Boudoir
Haute Shots is proud to be starting a new blog series called, What’s Sexy Now featuring smart, fashionable, successful & fabulous women giving their thoughts on what makes a woman sexy and sharing some of their favorite sexy things from films to fashion.
I wanted to kick the series off with the lovely Alison Rubke of the all-too-fabulous blog, Frou Frou Fashionista and owner of one of the most exquisite lingerie boutiques in the US, Faire Frou Frou, (Faire Frou Frou means ‘to show off’ in French - too cute!). She has impeccable taste and I am so happy that she is sharing some of her insights with us all here. And in case you missed Alison’s prior guest spot on Haute Shots, you can find her past post here.

A woman is sexy when she has a positive attitude, a sweet charm, class, confidence and intelligence. Those qualities make a woman beautiful.
When listing the sexy qualities in a woman I was thinking of Sarah Jessica Parker…something about her is just so cool. I love her personality! Or even someone like Grace Kelly…such a beauty with a bit of mystery.
Hmm, sexy film or book? Does Twilight count (LOL!)…I read quite a bit, but nothing too sexy. To be honest, I’m more of a romantic comedy personality. So movies like “Something’s Gotta Give” and “You’ve Got Mail” are my favorites.
Sexy mood music is definitely most R&B music. From “Sexual Healing” Marvin Gaye to “Make Love to You” by Boyz to Men to “Get Off” by Prince to “Nasty Boy” by Christina Aguilera…oh my goodness, there are so many good ones! However, in our lingerie boutique we play a lot of flirty music from Brigitte Bardot and Marilyn Monroe which is provocative in a fun way.
The ultimate sexy item is thigh high/stockings with a garter & high heels (Louboutins of course!). Being a lingerie boutique owner, I understand the importance of lingerie boosting your mood. Some incredibly hot designers right now are Lascivious and Damaris…both are tastefully daring! When you see someone like Dita von Teese perform and use her stockings as a prop, you really get an idea of how sexy lingerie can be. On a completely different note, I find black & white photography very sexy…just take a look at anything by Ellen von Unwerth and you will understand!
I think a sexy destination is a place that is visually stimulating with a lot of rich history and beautiful architecture. Places like Paris, London, Vienna and Amsterdam come to mind.
The boost of confidence certainly comes from creating a good presentation of myself. From a light perfume to a darling bra to pretty jewels and accessories. I really enjoy developing my style and really find joy in fashion. I enjoy finding ways to work lingerie into my outerwear, whether it’s pretty stockings or a statement bra with pretty straps, making these looks work are certainly morale boosters.

Blushing Bride-To-Be - Las Vegas Boudoir
Miss H came to me from Northern California while she was in Vegas preparing for her upcoming wedding. She decided to do her shoot at 8 in the morning, a hard time to feel ones sexiest, but she was amazing at that hour! The camera absolutely loved her (just look those incredible eyes!) and I had a blast starting my day with this beauty! Thank you Miss H for a great boudoir session! Haute Shots Products - Las Vegas Boudoir
Sorry I haven’t been posting on the blog lately. I’ve been super busy with lots of shoots and tons of orders as well as my dog Mazzy’s surgery (she had a lump removed from the top of her head….I was a bigger baby than she was!). I also have been working on a lot of images that I don’t have permission to display, which made me want to remind everyone that all of the images on my website & blog are ONLY used with my clients permission. I have my clients fill out a form at the time of their session stating what they are comfortable with as far as usage of their images goes.
Because a lot of my clients have hubby’s that travel a lot I decided to create something my girls can tuck inside their suitcases to remind the guys of the gorgeous gal awaiting their return. I thought this mini-accordian style book would be perfect for this. It is 3×3 inches of pure hauteness! You can choose from the red or black covers with magnetic closure.

Wednesday Wish List | Las Vegas Boudoir
Joe and I are in a race to buy a house by summertime. We have been looking and putting offers on homes since last summer/fall and keep getting beaten by investors with cash offers. I am seriously beginning to think that homes aren’t even being sold to real people who want to actually live in them. Neighborhoods in Vegas are rapidly being bought up and turned into rentals only. Not sure what that does to the value of a neighborhood, but surely it couldn’t be good. It definitely doesn’t sit well with us and we are losing hope more each day. Our dream was to have a house with a pool by summer so we could entertain friends & family.
This leads me to my Wednesday Wish List. On it this week, a house by my favorite architect Richard Neutra, a snazzy outdoor seating set from West Elm and a mini-vacation to somewhere beachy. We are considering a short vacay to either San Diego or Newport Beach!
