Couple’s Boudoir | Las Vegas Boudoir
I absolutely LOVE couple’s boudoir sessions! The energy, the seductive glances, the LOVE! Super hot and incredibly exciting to be a part of. I have to imagine it’s one of the funnest things a couple can do together. Seeing each other looking like models from a Maxim Magazine has to be quite a thrill and a way to see each other through fresh eyes!
Here are a few shots from one of my latest couple shoots. This couple (Mr. & Mrs. W) has shot with me before when Mr. W arranged a boudoir session for Mrs W last year and I was thrilled when they said they wanted to do it again! I hope it turns into a yearly tradition! They have become great friends since meeting them at the first photo session and I am continously amazed at what incredible people they are.
These are two of the more posed shots from the session, but my absolute favorites are some of the more candid photos, which I am going to leave private for them…sorry everyone! I will be showing some of Mrs W’s boudoir session soon though!

Buddha Balm | Las Vegas Boudoir
I love getting goodies in the mail! Well, last week I received a sample kit of Buddha Balm products! Yippee! I just had to share it with you girls here because I absolutely adore it and think you might like it too. This lip balm is no joke. It is without a doubt the most effective lip product I think I have ever tried! Buddha Balm is available in an assortment of interesting flavor combinations that you can still subtly taste on your lips hours after applying it. And it keeps my lips hydrated for hours too! I absolutely love this stuff! Thank you Buddha Balm for sending me your product! You now have a life-long fan in me!

Healthy Lifestyles | Las Vegas Boudoir
While on vacation in Hawaii recently I discovered that running can be lots of fun! The scenery there was so breathtaking which helped to take my mind off the challenge of pushing forward and it just felt good to start my day that way. I found I had more energy to sustain me through the rest of the day. So, upon my arrival home to Vegas I decided to give it a shot here too. We have gorgeous trails around my neighborhood and while we typically go walking and biking, I never do these things on my own and definitely never used the trails for jogging. Well, I am really, really enjoying it so far! I typically head out there on Tuesdays and Thursdays very, very early and am using an iphone app called Couch To 5k that has been very helpful in keeping me motivated. The other mornings of the week I have been walking the trails with a friend…soo much fun! I have a Pedometer iPhone app I try to remember to use for that too and can’t believe how many calories it says we are burning from just walking! Can’t wait to eventually get new running shoes and cute tops and shorts to go with my new hobby!
When I become interested in something, I go in head first and become pretty much consumed with passion for it. My work is one such thing (I love it so much I live and breathe it), my family and friends obviously, now walking/jogging and even tea! I just made the switch succesfully from coffee to tea and am absolutely loving it! I fell in love with the store Teavana. The staff will give you quite an education on tea if you ask, and also are very helpful in selecting just the right tea for you.
I definitely think reading Eat, Pray, Love gave me a bit more bravery to make more of an effort to set aside time just for me that’s healthy, yet fun. Soo excited for the movie to open this weekend! Do any of you have plans to go see it?
What are some of the things you are doing just to celebrate you and make you a better, healthier person?

Congratulations! | Las Vegas Boudoir
Miss O was an absolute riot - she had wanted to wait for her boyfriend’s birthday to show him her boudoir images from her photo session with me but caved in and let him see her sneak peeks the instant I emailed them to her. The very next day or so he proposed to her! I would like to think these photos played a small part in her adoring boyfriend putting a gorgeous ring on her finger, but the truth is, these two are just head over heels for one another! Did I mention how gorgeous the ring is? Oh my goodness, I absolutely swooned when I saw it. Miss O, you are so deserving of the all the happiness coming your way. I am beyond ecstatic for both of you!
Isn’t Miss O stunning? By the way, some of you may recognize Miss O (it’s Lavey!) from some of your shoots. She fills in for Kat doing makeup on occasion. She is a phenomenal celebrity makeup artist. I always giggle when a client tells her they want their makeup to look like Kim Kardashian’s because LaVey has done makeup for the Kardashian’s on several occasions when they are in Vegas!
Makeup by LaVey Lauren Ortiz, hair by Sharleen Andrade of COLOR, a Salon by Michael Boychuck.
Images shot on-location at the new and incredibly gorgeous Rumor Boutique Hotel in Las Vegas, NV.

Inspiration: Jerry Hall | Las Vegas Boudoir
While doing a clients makeup for a boudoir session this week, Kat (Hera Beauty) mentioned how much she reminded her ofJerry Hall, a model popular in the late 1970’s and well known for having been Mick Jagger’s long-time flame. She reminded me more of Cameron Diaz, but when I returned home from the shoot I looked her up online and thought our gorgeous client was a perfect mix of Hall and Diaz! Lucky girl! Anyway, I got carried away browsing images of Jerry and thought I would share a few here with you to hopefully provide you with some inspiration for your own boudoir photoshoot.
In my list of tips I provide when you book your session, I mention that it sometimes helps to imagine that you are your favorite celebrity or model during your shoot. Getting into character like that helps give you confidence, which the camera absolutely adores. So, go ahead and seek out celebrated bombshells you can emulate! Which famous female would you be?
I loved this video featuring Jerry’s opinion on beauty, aging and plastic surgery.

True Friends | Las Vegas Boudoir Photography
Some people come in to your life for a fleeting moment, others hang around for a few years, while a handful of others are friends for life. Miss D falls into the ‘friends for life’ category for me. We met many years ago as coworkers and ended up sharing a closet space as our office…no joke. You can really get to know a person when working in such close quarters! While I was studying and learning photography I would talk Miss D into doing mini photo sessions on the roof during our lunch breaks…sooo fun! And she was always the perfect model! She had experience in dance which allowed her to pose so effortlessly and gracefully. Well, flash forward to now, and she still has that beautiful grace! I was so happy that she recently asked me to do a professional photoshoot for her while she was in Vegas, one in which we weren’t surrounded by construction workers on the roof of a casino! Without further ado, I present to you one of my all-time favorite friends (love you Miss D - thank you so much for wanting to do another shoot with me and for allowing me to share your images here):
{{ Makeup by celebrity make-up artist LaVey Ortiz }}
I hope each and every one of you are surrounded by the beauty of good friends. They help make the ups and downs of life a much more interesting journey, don’t they?
P.S. If this post reaches 15 comments, Miss D will get a complimentary 8×10 metallic print from this set. Which shot of hers is your favorite?

Comment Complications | Las Vegas Boudoir
I love getting comments on my blog, just as anyone who has a blog does. But, I got so busy with other Haute Shots oriented things, that I didn’t realize I hadn’t been getting many comments here at all (for a few months actually). I figured maybe everyone was just favoring commenting on the Haute Shots Facebook Page or something. Well, I was shocked to find out recently that my posts weren’t getting comments here because something was wrong with my blog…oops!
So, please accept my apology to any of you who left a comment that didn’t get posted. Your thoughts are incredibly valuable to me and I would never intentionally not put your comment through. Joe fixed the problem though, so it should be smooth sailing from here on out. Feel free to comment away!
Oh, and if you notice that your comments are not posting in the future, please, please, please let me know.
P.S. Could someone leave me a comment to be sure it’s working? We made another change since I wrote this!

Lingerie Resources | Las Vegas Boudoir Photography
I get lots of inquiries regarding good sites to shop for lingerie from and while I keep quite a few sites listed on the side of the blog (to the right), I wanted to list my absolute favorites on this post for you now. While some of these are more expensive than, let’s say, Victoria’s Secret, or less accessible (as some are Europe based companies), you can always use these as examples in finding similar, more affordable options when you go on your search for the perfect attire for your shoot.
Hope you enjoy browsing these amazing sites!

Wish List Wednesday
This week I have lots of home decor items on my wish-list.
First up is an office chair I have been lusting over for years. I love the shape of these, but wonder if they are comfortable enough for someone who spends hours upon hours at their desk. If any of you own a chair similar to this, I would love to hear your opinion on the comfort of them.
Yesterday I stumbled upon this living room display for Z Gallerie. I thought it was decadently beautiful. I am normally drawn to white furniture or something like this (a neutral gray) where you can add pops of color to the room with artwork and accents.
I have come to the conclusion that my all-time favorite kitchen and bathroom countertop material is Carrara Marble. Michelangelo used this type of marble for his famous David statue. I am totally obsessed with it right now. What is your favorite countertop surface?

{{kitchen image via Canadian House & Home}}
{{bathroom image via Decor Pad}}
Okay, enough day-dreaming! Back to work for me! Hope you all are having a fabulous Wednesday!
I would love to hear what’s on your wish-list right now!

Shooting a Shooter - Las Vegas Boudoir
In the time leading up to WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Professionals International) conference last month I had quite a few inquiries from other boudoir photographers who were going to be in town and wanted to get a boudoir session from me for themselves. Unfortunately I had to turn away all but one pretty lady due to my crazy schedule that week. I felt so bad about not being able to do all of the shoots but am grateful for the opportunity to have done at least one shoot for another photographer.
I have to admit I was nervous as all get out (then again, I’m always nervous about EVERYTHING…lol)! When shooting for another photographer, you know you are dealing with a person who has a highly trained eye so the pressure to deliver perfection is even stronger. But, Mrs T walked in and put my nerves at ease with her charming personality, fun ideas for her shoot and her absolute beauty. It ended up being one of the funnest shoots ever! Something about her reminded me of Kate Beckinsale…she is a real looker! And the girl knew how to pose!
Thank you Mrs. T for a fabulous time! Looking forward to next year when we can do it again!

What’s Sexy Now? Guest 1 - Las Vegas Boudoir
Haute Shots is proud to be starting a new blog series called, What’s Sexy Now featuring smart, fashionable, successful & fabulous women giving their thoughts on what makes a woman sexy and sharing some of their favorite sexy things from films to fashion.
I wanted to kick the series off with the lovely Alison Rubke of the all-too-fabulous blog, Frou Frou Fashionista and owner of one of the most exquisite lingerie boutiques in the US, Faire Frou Frou, (Faire Frou Frou means ‘to show off’ in French - too cute!). She has impeccable taste and I am so happy that she is sharing some of her insights with us all here. And in case you missed Alison’s prior guest spot on Haute Shots, you can find her past post here.
Without further ado, here are Alison’s answers and imagery that she finds sexy:
- What makes a woman sexy?
- Famous female that most embodies sexy to you:
- Favorite sexy film or literature (or both):
- Song or Album that never fails to put you in a sexy mood:
- Fashion trend, item or designer collection that you find sexy:
- Sexy destination:
- What makes you feel sexy?
A woman is sexy when she has a positive attitude, a sweet charm, class, confidence and intelligence. Those qualities make a woman beautiful.
When listing the sexy qualities in a woman I was thinking of Sarah Jessica Parker…something about her is just so cool. I love her personality! Or even someone like Grace Kelly…such a beauty with a bit of mystery.
Hmm, sexy film or book? Does Twilight count (LOL!)…I read quite a bit, but nothing too sexy. To be honest, I’m more of a romantic comedy personality. So movies like “Something’s Gotta Give†and “You’ve Got Mail†are my favorites.
Sexy mood music is definitely most R&B music. From “Sexual Healing†Marvin Gaye to “Make Love to You†by Boyz to Men to “Get Off†by Prince to “Nasty Boy†by Christina Aguilera…oh my goodness, there are so many good ones! However, in our lingerie boutique we play a lot of flirty music from Brigitte Bardot and Marilyn Monroe which is provocative in a fun way.
The ultimate sexy item is thigh high/stockings with a garter & high heels (Louboutins of course!). Being a lingerie boutique owner, I understand the importance of lingerie boosting your mood. Some incredibly hot designers right now are Lascivious and Damaris…both are tastefully daring! When you see someone like Dita von Teese perform and use her stockings as a prop, you really get an idea of how sexy lingerie can be. On a completely different note, I find black & white photography very sexy…just take a look at anything by Ellen von Unwerth and you will understand!
I think a sexy destination is a place that is visually stimulating with a lot of rich history and beautiful architecture. Places like Paris, London, Vienna and Amsterdam come to mind.
The boost of confidence certainly comes from creating a good presentation of myself. From a light perfume to a darling bra to pretty jewels and accessories. I really enjoy developing my style and really find joy in fashion. I enjoy finding ways to work lingerie into my outerwear, whether it’s pretty stockings or a statement bra with pretty straps, making these looks work are certainly morale boosters.

Blushing Bride-To-Be - Las Vegas Boudoir
Miss H came to me from Northern California while she was in Vegas preparing for her upcoming wedding. She decided to do her shoot at 8 in the morning, a hard time to feel ones sexiest, but she was amazing at that hour! The camera absolutely loved her (just look those incredible eyes!) and I had a blast starting my day with this beauty! Thank you Miss H for a great boudoir session! And congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I am sooo excited for you!

Haute Shots Products - Las Vegas Boudoir
Sorry I haven’t been posting on the blog lately. I’ve been super busy with lots of shoots and tons of orders as well as my dog Mazzy’s surgery (she had a lump removed from the top of her head….I was a bigger baby than she was!). I also have been working on a lot of images that I don’t have permission to display, which made me want to remind everyone that all of the images on my website & blog are ONLY used with my clients permission. I have my clients fill out a form at the time of their session stating what they are comfortable with as far as usage of their images goes.
Because a lot of my clients have hubby’s that travel a lot I decided to create something my girls can tuck inside their suitcases to remind the guys of the gorgeous gal awaiting their return. I thought this mini-accordian style book would be perfect for this. It is 3×3 inches of pure hauteness! You can choose from the red or black covers with magnetic closure.
And, for the guys who want to gift their gal with boudoir, I now have gift certificates! Email me for more information.

Haute Shots is proud to be donating to an upcoming charity, so I made a little promo book so the guests can learn what a fabulous experience a boudoir session is with my team.

Wednesday Wish List | Las Vegas Boudoir
Joe and I are in a race to buy a house by summertime. We have been looking and putting offers on homes since last summer/fall and keep getting beaten by investors with cash offers. I am seriously beginning to think that homes aren’t even being sold to real people who want to actually live in them. Neighborhoods in Vegas are rapidly being bought up and turned into rentals only. Not sure what that does to the value of a neighborhood, but surely it couldn’t be good. It definitely doesn’t sit well with us and we are losing hope more each day. Our dream was to have a house with a pool by summer so we could entertain friends & family.
This leads me to my Wednesday Wish List. On it this week, a house by my favorite architect Richard Neutra, a snazzy outdoor seating set from West Elm and a mini-vacation to somewhere beachy. We are considering a short vacay to either San Diego or Newport Beach!
What are you wishing for this week?

Canadian Beauty | Las Vegas Boudoir
Mrs H came for her session while visiting Vegas all the way from Canada! It just so happens that she was the first of 2 sessions with girls from Canada that day! Mrs H was so much fun though! Her peppy spirit, beautiful eyes and gorgeous smile totally won me over! Here’s what she had to say about her sneak peeks:
“SCREAM!!!!!!!!! That’s me screaming in excitement!!! I totally love the teasers, (and they are teasers for sure) my husband loved them! I can’t wait to see all of them. Pat on the back to you and your team - great job. You are a wonderful photographer and a great presence to be around. Thank you so much.” ~Mrs H
I loved how she wore a cute shorts jumper as one of her outfits. It will give her more usage from her photographs that way! While she may not want to show everyone the pics of her in lingerie, she can certainly share the other pics on facebook etc. Smart girl!

Haute Shots Happenings
I’ve been a busy, busy girl lately. Between doing shoots, processing lots of lovely images, fulfilling lots & lots of orders (with so many more to still finish), setting up a new Gallery for proofing & ordering images, to analyzing my marketing & considering new packages to offer…it’s been crazy over here!
I am also organizing an event to celebrate the first anniversary of Haute Shots! And, of course, the AIDS Walk…both in April. Watch for more regular events too. I truly consider all of YOU as part of Haute Shots (it’s not just about the photographer or the photography) and hope to carry these amazing relationships into the future!
I did get to have a little fun this past weekend, finally. Thanks to Fiji Water, Joe and I got to see the band Jet (LOVE them!) perform at Rock & Roll Wine held at the gorgeous pool at Caesar’s Palace! Here’s a silly pic of me with the band (below). We were all supposed to do something ‘ridiculously funny’ for the picture. While I admit, I look absolutely ridiculous (I mean, come on, could I possibly look like more of a dork?), I don’t think any of us were very creative with this at all! Well, Cam (on the left) gave it a good try at least. They put on one heck of a great performance for their show though. So fun!

A couple of things on my radar this week…
1. A Kindle (NOT a Ken Doll, Joe…hehe) & cute Red Case so I can read more!
2. A pair of Easy Tones by Reebok. These would get me excited about walking the trails around my house again and get me into shape quicker, I just know it!
3. The Lola…a super hot looking camera bag for women!

Haute Stuff | Las Vegas Boudoir
Remember the Valentine’s Day contest we had for the single ladies last month? Well, here is our lovely winner, Ms. F. Isn’t she absolutely gorgeous? Remember guys, she’s single! But not for long, I’m sure!
Here’s what Ms. F had to say about her experience:
I know it takes time to get used to someplace new, since I have only been in Vegas since January. The problem is that I am not getting used to it here. Winning the contest with Haute Shots helped ease that. I felt comfortable and like my old self. (My old self is pre January) When I found out I won, I had something marvelous to look forward to. When I scheduled the date for the shoot, I had something else to look forward to. When I picked out my outfits, it was something else fun to look forward to.
Then the day of the shoot arrived and I couldn’t concentrate at work. I was nervous. Very. Nervous. I thought to myself, “I am about to disrobe in front of a stranger! Help!” I swallowed that down and headed to the shoot. I felt at ease as soon as I met Stacie. She was wrapping up a shoot for another client but was still attentive to both of us. (I have since then bought 2 head bands from the other client
)
I sat with Kat and Whitney from Hera Beauty and they transformed me in what felt like no time at all. They are magicians! Time does fly when you are having fun. During the shoot, I was not a single iota of nervous or self conscious. It was great. I know everyone’s testimonial says that but until you book a shoot and do it yourself you won’t know.
Overall, winning the contest has been a brilliant bright spot in my short time here. Thank you Haute Shots for making a good night for me turn into a month or so of giddiness. ~Ms. F

This One’s in the Bag!
Be still my heart. I may have finally found a camera bag worthy of using by Epiphanie Bags! I am just torn between the Ginger (hello? I have a package named Ginger!) and the Lola (RED - it matches my branding better!). Decisions, decisions. I have awhile to figure it out I suppose, as I don’t have any new purchases laid out in the budget as of yet. Bummer.
Which one do you guys like best? The Ginger or the Lola? Please leave me a comment with your answers!
